Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 cups dry orzo

  • 4 cups vegetable broth

  • 2 pounds asparagus

  • 9 tablespoons butter, divided

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese, extra for garnish

  • 4 tablespoons milk

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Recipe Directions

In your Larder & Vine Braiser over medium-low heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add uncooked orzo and stir continuously until pasta is golden brown.

Add broth and whisk while bringing it to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until all the liquid is absorbed. Add the chopped asparagus in the last 2 minutes of cooking. Remove from heat and set aside in a bowl.

In the same Braiser, melt 8 tablespoons of butter and add minced garlic. Cook for about 4 minutes, stirring constantly to avoid burning.

Add orzo and asparagus back to the Braiser then stir in cheese, milk, parsley, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 1 minute or until warmed through.

Remove from heat and garnish with extra parmesan cheese. Serve and enjoy!
